Recipe Ingredients

  • Green Beans – Use fresh green beans. Wash them and cut the ends off for the best texture.
  • Olive Oil – Helps the beans roast evenly and get a little crispy.
  • Minced Garlic – Adds a punch of flavor that makes these green beans next level.
  • Shredded Parmesan – Melts slightly and adds salty, cheesy goodness.
  • Salt and Pepper – Keep it simple with just a sprinkle to enhance all the flavors.

Variations

  • Add red pepper flakes – Sprinkle a pinch of red pepper flakes with the parmesan if you like a little heat.
  • Use lemon zest – A little fresh lemon zest sprinkled on right before serving brightens up the whole dish.
  • Swap the cheese – Try using pecorino romano or asiago for a slightly different cheesy flavor.

Tips for Making the Best Garlic Parmesan Green Beans

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan – Spread the green beans out so they roast instead of steaming.
  • Use freshly shredded parmesan – It melts and tastes better than the pre-shredded bags.
  • Watch the garlic – Minced garlic can burn quickly, so make sure to add it halfway through the cooking time.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste – You can always add a pinch more salt or pepper right before serving if needed.

Recipe FAQs

Can I use frozen green beans instead of fresh?

Fresh is best for this recipe because frozen green beans can release extra moisture and won’t get as crispy. If you only have frozen, thaw and pat them very dry before roasting.

How do I store leftovers?

Store leftover green beans in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes to crisp them up again.

Can I make these in the air fryer?

Absolutely! Air fry at 380°F (193°C) for about 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Add the parmesan and garlic halfway through just like you would for the oven.

What other dishes go well with garlic parmesan green beans?

These green beans are super versatile! Serve them alongside lemon garlic chicken, slow cooker chicken thighs, air fryer turkey meatloaf, or add them to your holiday table. They’re fancy enough for a special meal but easy enough for a weeknight dinner.

Golden, crispy, and loaded with garlic and parmesan, these roasted green beans are a must-try! Simple to prep and bake, they’re the perfect side dish for holidays, potlucks, or cozy weeknight dinners. I hope you love them as much as my family does.
