Ingredients for Greek Yogurt Parfait

  • Greek Yogurt: Provides a rich, creamy base and is excellent for digestive health due to its probiotics.
  • Mixed Berries: A colorful combination of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries that add sweetness and a high nutritional profile.
  • Honey: For a natural sweetness that complements the tanginess of the yogurt and the flavor of the berries.
  • Granola: Add a layer of granola for a crunchy texture and extra fiber. ( I prefer my favorite protein granola for the added flavor and protein!)

Tips for Perfect Greek Yogurt Parfait

  • Consistency of Yogurt: Opt for thick, plain Greek yogurt for the best texture in your parfait.
  • Fresh or Frozen Berries: You can use either, but fresh berries are the best for flavor and texture. If using frozen, allow them to thaw first to avoid excess moisture.
  • Serving Size: This recipe can be adjusted up or down, making it perfect for a single serving or for a group.

Can You Meal Prep Yogurt Parfait?

Yes, the Greek Yogurt Parfait can be prepped ahead of time, making it a convenient option for meal prepping. Here are a few tips to ensure the best results when meal prepping this recipe:

  1. Use Airtight Containers: Store each parfait in an individual airtight container to keep the ingredients fresh and prevent any odors from the refrigerator from affecting the taste.
  2. Layer Strategically: To keep the granola or any added nuts from getting soggy, you can store them separately and add them just before serving. If you’re not using crunchy add-ons, layering as suggested in the recipe works well.
  3. Prepare in Batches: You can assemble several servings at once and store them in the fridge. The parfait will generally keep well for up to 3 days when refrigerated properly.
  4. Consider the Fruit: If using fruits that oxidize and turn brown like apples or bananas, it’s best to add these just before serving as well. Berries typically hold up better, but ensure they are dry when added to prevent excess moisture.

By following these tips, you can enjoy a delicious and nutritious Greek Yogurt Parfait throughout the week with minimal daily preparation time.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup mixed berries
  • 1/2 cup granola
  • 3 Tablespoons honey

Instructions

  • Cover the bottom of the jars with a layer using 1 cup Greek yogurt. Top with a small drizzle of honey.
  • Add 1 cup mixed berries and 1/2 cup granola evenly in jars and then top with another layer of yogurt.
  • Top the parfait with more berries and honey and drizzle with 3 Tablespoons honey over the jars before serving.

Notes

I use high protein Greek yogurt and high protein granola to increase the protein intake for each of these parfaits.
If meal prepping, add the yogurt and honey to the containers and store the granola and fruit in a separate container before serving. If you store the parfaits already made the granola and berries will lose their texture and crispiness.
Add in different berries or flavored yogurt for variation.
